Overview:

The host presents a positive first impression of the Steakhouse excellent guest service and Atlantis standards by greeting guests pleasantly and with a smile upon arrival, showing guests to their table, as well as bidding them farewell as they leave.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for initial guest interaction at the door and welcoming all visitors to the restaurant and setting the tone for their experience
• Monitor door/podium at all times to ensure prompt seating of guests.
• Answer phones and take reservations.
• Pleasant, conscientious and professional with excellent hospitality instincts & drive to provide customer service
• Able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, ensure smooth service operations and quality service
• Take payments from Guests and ensure proper cash handling techniques
• Ability to communicate with Guests and also with restaurant management staff.
• Must conduct oneself in a manner that reflects a positive professional image.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Qualifications:

• Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture and will be required to wear hostess fine dining uniform.
• Applicants must possess a strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress in a fine dining environment.
• Ability to operate a cash register POS system
• Pleasant phone demeanor
• Must be at least 16 years of age.

• Alcohol Awareness Card Required
• At least 2 years of experience bartending in upscale restaurant or fine-dining preferred.
• Must be familiar with standard drinks and able to maintain supplies necessary to prepare common cocktails and beverages.
• Must have strong cash handling skills and ability to collect payments accurately.
• Must have strong knowledge of liquor and wine and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and guest service skills a must.
